Discipline packs

What each discipline pack contains and how to switch packs on or off.

ScholarMuse groups its tools into six discipline packs. A pack decides which tools your agents can use. Keeping only the packs you need makes it easier for your agent to pick the right tool.

Switching packs

  1. Open Capability packs.
  2. Switch a pack on or off.

Things to know:

  • General research is always on. It cannot be switched off.
  • New accounts start with General research and Life sciences & medicine switched on.
  • You also choose packs when you approve a new agent in your browser.
  • Switching a pack off takes effect at once. After switching one on, your agent may need to reconnect before it sees the new tools.
  • If your agent calls a tool from a pack that is off, nothing is charged. It gets a message saying the pack is off and where to switch it on.

General research

Always on.

The full list

The Capabilities page describes every capability with example requests, and the Sources page lists each data source with its licence. You can also ask your agent "What can you do with ScholarMuse?" for the current list.
