ScholarMuse gives the AI agent you already use a set of academic tools, so it can work from real papers and official data instead of guessing.
Connect ScholarMuse once and your agent can search papers, check references and retractions, find grants and datasets, fetch official statistics, look up genes, proteins, compounds, materials and other discipline records, and draw scientific figures. You keep working in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or another agent; there is no new app to learn.
Your agent connects to one address and you approve it in your browser. No API keys are needed for that. Tools are grouped into discipline packs that you switch on or off, and each successful call uses credits. A REST API is available for tools that do not connect this way.
ScholarMuse queries official, openly licensed sources directly, such as OpenAlex, Crossref, PubMed, NIH RePORTER and the World Bank. Every record comes back with its source, licence, attribution line and the time it was retrieved, so you can check it and cite it. The data stays under the licence of the source it came from.
Requests are used to answer you. We do not train models on them. You can see the calls your agents made on the Activity page and disconnect an agent at any time.
ScholarMuse is operated by TopLocalAI, LLC. It is an independent product.
